The Department of Homeland Security selected Electronic Data Systems (EDS) Corporation today as the vendor for the department’s eTravel Services (eTS) program. The eTS program is a federal, inter-agency initiative with a primary goal to create more efficient and effective federal government travel services.

EDS will provide a web-based reservation service as well as implementation support, and training and customer support. The eTS program scope includes travel planning, cost estimating, approval processing, reservation booking, and activity reporting.  EDS is also committed to integrating their solution with the eMerge2 and MAXHR programs.

EDS is one of three federal e-travel providers authorized under a GSA contract. Following a thorough evaluation, EDS and its FedTraveler.com web-based system most effectively met DHS requirements. Organizational elements within the department will now establish their individual requirements with EDS.

This contract award maintains DHS compliance with the President’s Management Agenda e-government goals and also supports the GSA eTravel Initiative.
